Graham E Morris (OH 1939-1946)
The Club was saddened to learn of the death of Graham Morris who died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 78 after a long battle with cancer.

Graham was born on 2nd August 1928 and attended the Cathedral School during the war years.

He played rugby and cricket for his school. Soon after peace was declared in the Far East ( VJ DAY ) G E M left HCS to join the Royal Air Force where he later took up an Officers commission and trained in radar operations both here in the UK and overseas.

After approximately 10 + years in the RAF, he left to train as a teacher. He began teaching science to 11 – 16 year olds then later moved into Higher Education, eventually becoming a senior lecturer in electronics and IT at Hatfield Polytechnic (now part of Herts University).

G E M stayed at Hatfield for the remainder of his working life and it was at the Poly that Graham met his future wife Elizabeth - on the college Badminton court !! She was also a teacher at the same campus and, like Graham took a keen interest in sports.

They married in 1968 and adopted two babies of mixed race background.

Emma the older child is now a successful lawyer and Nicholas, like his father is working with computers.
