John M Hall (OH 1918-1928)
13/05/2005
The following is an extract from information sent in to the Club by Christopher Hall ( OH 1953 - 1960 ) about his late Father, who sadly died at Hereford County Hospital on 13th June 2005 after a brief illness. He was 94.

" J M H attended the Preparatory School between 1918 and 1921 before moving to the senior school, known then as the Upper School where he remained until 1928. He achieved 3rd Class Honours and an Oxford Senior Certificate in 1926. He gained 1st IV Rowing Colours between 1927 and 1928, eventually becoming Captain of HCS Boats in 1928. He was also awarded school colours in Rugby, becoming 1st XV Captain between 1927 and 1928 and a Monitor during the same period. "

The above paragraph represents an edited version of text found in " Records of Hereford Cathedral School " cica 1931, which were understood to have been prepared by Major J C Eales-White. I understand that my Father was involved with the OH Club in an administrative capacity in more recent years. Suffice it to say that, even after all these years, he remembered his life at Hereford Cathedral School with considerable affection, frequently referring to his stay there, and that of various teaching staff from that era plus of course his fellow pupils.
